The aim of the qualification is to develop each learner’s ability to prevent, mitigate and manage the effects of infectious disease in the context of their own role in the school and childcare environment.
The objective of the qualification is to provide a benefit to learners by supporting safe practice in their role in the School and Childcare environment. Successful achievement of the qualification will enable them to contribute to:
- prevention, mitigation and management of infectious disease
- effective control of infectious diseases in the context of their own role in the school and childcare environment
- effective contingency planning associated with infectious disease in the context of own role in the School and Childcare environment.
This qualification is designed for learners who fulfil a paid or voluntary role in a nursery, school, college and general childcare environment. This includes a strategic leaders, teachers and support staff. It also supports contracted providers such as caretakers, ground staff, kitchen staff and dinners ladies. Finally, it supports physical and arts activities providers operating in schools and childcare settings.
Learners are sent the following emails for each phase of the qualification:
00 Learner Application & Agreement Form – to be filled out prior to commencing your course
01 Welcome – background information to the course
02 E-learning Experience – a series of videos for learners to watch, digest and make notes on
03 Case Study Assessment – a workbook of questions to complete. Learners will then request their professional discussion via a Microsoft Form
04 Professional Discussion – ran remotely on Microsoft Teams. This email will come the tutor once the learner’s time-slot has been booked in, confirming the time and webinar link.
