Event Description
The aim of the qualification is to develop each learner’s ability to coach safe and engaging multi-sports sessions in the holiday club environment.
The objective of the qualification is to provide a benefit to learners by supporting a paid role as a multi-sports coach in the holiday club environment. Whilst attending the qualification learners will develop the knowledge and skills required to be able to:
- fulfil duties of a holiday club activity coach
- drive engagement as a holiday club activity coach
- meet the deployment expectations of a holiday club activity coach delivering multi-sports
Learners and benefits
This qualification is for learners who aspire to gain and retain employment as an activity coach in multi-sports operating in the holiday club environment.
Learner entry requirements
Prior to registration for the qualification learners are required to:
- be accurately identified
- be at least 16 years of age
- be able to communicate effectively in English [reading, spoken, listening and writing]
The learner will not be eligible to deliver coaching sessions autonomously until 18 years of age.
Delivery Model
3 full days, typically running 9am-5pm
Learners will achieve 2 qualifications by attending this course:
- Transcend Level 2 Award for Holiday Club Activity Coaches in Multi-Sports
- Transcend Level 2 Award in Leading Inclusive Physical Activities
**Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, this course will run remotely on webinars to ensure our learners are not affected and carry on making progress towards their qualifications. The webinars will be running on the dates detailed above, with the assessment being carried out over a 1 hour phone call on the final day if required. If you are attending this course to pick up the full qualification, attendance on both webinar days, as well as an assessment call on the final day. If you are attending this course to achieve a Transcend L2 Award in Leading Inclusive Physical Activities (L2 LIPA), you will need to attend just the first webinar day, as well as an assessment call on the final day. Finally, if you have already completed the L2 LIPA course, you will just need to attend the webinar on day 2 to pick up the Transcend Level 2 Award for Holiday Club Activity Coaches in Multi-Sports as you have already completed the assessment day on the L2 LIPA course you have already completed**
