Transcend Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention, Mitigation and Management

Qualification Aim:

The aim of the qualification is to develop each learner’s ability to prevent, mitigate and manage the effects of infectious disease in the context of their own role in the school and childcare environment.

Qualification Objective:

The objective of the qualification is to provide a benefit to learners by supporting safe practice in their role in the School and Childcare environment. Successful achievement of the qualification will enable them to contribute to:

• prevention, mitigation and management of infectious disease
• effective control of infectious diseases in the context of their own role in the school and childcare environment
• effective contingency planning associated with infectious disease in the context of own role in the School and Childcare environment.

This qualification is designed for learners who fulfil a paid or voluntary role in a nursery, school, college and general childcare environment. This includes a strategic leaders, teachers and support staff. It also supports contracted providers such as caretakers, ground staff, kitchen staff and dinners ladies. Finally, it supports physical and arts activities providers operating in schools and childcare settings.
